The Digital Groove Top Track of 2014 Finally Gets Released!

The biggest track of 2014 of Niall Redmond's Digital Groove at last gets its commercial release.

Show You Right - biggest tune of 2014 for The Digital Groove

Dublin’s Regular Al came into studio for the Digital Groove top 30 countdown as his track “Show You Right” took the number one spot

Back in April 2014 Niall Redmond received what was effectively a Demo from Walkinstown,Dublin producer Al O Connor (Regular Al) of a track entitled “Show You Right”,the premise was “have a listen to this and see what you think? Bit of a 90s piano vibe.Might need a bit of tweaking.. any thoughts?”.

Thing is, it was a bit more than just a demo. It was one of those tunes that doesn’t come along very often. A song that stops you dead in your tracks as your jaw hits the floor. A song that Redmond instantly knew was the best the track he heard all year. In true Digital Groove style it was aired that night on the show, which takes delight in playing records that are unsigned, straight from the producers studio and in some cases not even finished.

Two weeks later in Zurich, Switzerland, Niall Redmond broadcast a special LIVE set from the famous Club Bellevue which featured Kant and Redmond’s sets as they happened from the club broadcast LIVE on RTE Pulse over 3 hours. One of the biggest tracks of the night that night was Show You Right, which lit up the dance floor.Eveyone who heard it in the booth (DJ’s and Producers as well as sizeable amount of the crowd)wanted to know what it was. Thing was as of that moment it was a demo / unsigned track that just happened to be a massive underground tune.

Niall Redmond dropped it several more times on the radio (which in itself is unusual- as The Digital Groove normally has a complete change of playlist each week being a new music show) and in every live set since including during his set at Street Parade in Zurich to over 1 million revellers. The reaction was the same each time it got played. HUGE!
Being the A & R of Deeptown Music, Redmond desperately wanted to sign it and Grant Nelson had even sized it up from his Freeze Dried imprint. However, given Regular Al’s ties to Mint Crush Records (Dublin) with his previous release “The Fix Is In” he chose to sign with Mint and keep it all Dublin (in a further effort to keep things Dublin he remixed Dublin’s Kaily on Deeptown Music with his massive tune “No Love” in late 2014.

Fast forward to the end of the year show for the Digital Groove. The final show of the year is a three hour special counting down the top 30 tracks in order from the years playlist(listed below). It’s based on listener reaction, times played on the show and club reaction during the year. There was no doubt that “Show You Right” was the number 1 by miles. Being a Dubliner, Al dropped into the show live and chatted about the track, his year, his plans for 2015 and of course for a heavy dose of congratulations.

And almost a year later from that fateful email, the track has finally dropped !
With the stunning Original along side Mint Crush’s DJ Jogador providing two Dubbier and Deeper versions.

In typical Digital Groove style the number one track of 2014 wasn’t even released at the time, but now it is.
